As we continue our series engaging with Ecclesiastes we have the privilege of hearing Melinda Cousens, current Director of Ministries with BCSANT sharing with us on the weariness of wisdom.
Today we unpack the various tensions that come from seeking knowledge. As The Teacher in Ecclesiastes shares, seeking wisdom can lead to grief and sorrow!
Melinda takes the opportunity to unpack the various tensions at play, and to offer a suggestion of what it looks like to live in the middle of them.

We wish that we could control and experience the satisfaction of outcome. But we exist within a larger story, and the better we understand our limitations the better. In the seeming despair of Ecclesiastes, we discover that limitations are not hopeless, but rather create the possibility of genuine satisfaction/equanimity. Particularly in a place like Alice Springs, this helps sustain us: we know when to say, “enough” and to trust in the Creator’s bigger story.
