Poem: Set Up Camp (Dave Clark)

Still got a shirt upon my back
Enough measures to plug the gaps.
The world has shut itself right down.
But shut down, hearts don’t have to be.

As anxiousness goes up and up
His peace will flow as things erupt.
Pour pain and praise into His hands
Corona can’t keep Jesus down.

Got no idea what part we’ll play
How long virus is here to stay.
But we are here by no mistake.
His Body placed in Alice Springs.

The Spirit’s plan, mysterious
Our role may not be glorious
A phone call and a lasagne
Some ways to show the love of Christ.

We’ll serve with shaking hands and feet
A world desperate for grace so sweet.
There’s more than fear inside our hearts
Our Saviour’s set up camp with us.
