A Law of Purpose and Priesthood

(Matthew 5:17-20) Gavin explains the foundational purpose of the Law: to build a priesthood. Only with this understanding can we make sense of Jesus coming not to abolish the Law but to fulfil its purpose, and the "greater" righteousness he invites us to participate in.
