A Gentle Answer
Proverbs 15:1-2 | John 8:1-11 How do we respond when we’re criticised, misunderstood, or confronted? In those moments, our words have the power to either escalate conflict or bring peace. Proverbs reminds us that “a gentle answer turns away wrath,” and in John 8 we see Jesus model that wisdom perfectly. In this message from our Wisdom in Practice series, we explore how Christ demonstrates strength under control through His response to the woman caught in adultery, and what that means for our conversations today. Together we’ll discover: * Every response holds the potential to heal or destroy. * Gentleness often requires us to create time and space. * Replace reckless folly with righteous fruit. Jesus never compromised truth, nor did He weaponise it. His example calls us to speak with both grace and wisdom, allowing the Holy Spirit to shape our words for the good of others.
