G'day! I'm Kerry and am the Director of Pastoral Care and Small Groups at Alice Springs Baptist Church. I welcome you to come and worship with us and hope that you will find a small group to join.
As a 20 year old student teacher camping at Katherine Gorge, I learned that the God who I had feared all my life was the One who loved me perfectly. Shortly after I moved to the Northern Territory to teach at Lajamanu, a remote indigenous community 1000kms from Darwin where I lived for the next 5 years. Since then we have moved around the territory living in Darwin, on a cattle station and presently in Alice Springs. We have also had the privilege of attending Bible College in NSW. I am married to Howard and have two sons, Nicholas and Sean who are aged 20 and 17 and are much taller than me! I love my work as the Director of Pastoral Care, being privileged to see
at close quarters what God does in people’s lives, through joys and through
sorrows. When folk arrive new in town it is always exciting to hear what
God has done to both bring them to faith and then to grow them into maturity.
Living in Alice Springs reminds me daily of the magnitude and wonderful
diversity of God’s family; folk having little in common except Jesus as
Lord…and discovering that ultimately it is the only thing which counts.
We serve an amazing God.
