Currently we are seeking a new senior pastor.

The Alice Springs Baptist Church is currently seeking a Senior Pastor to join with us on our Christ led journey in Central Australia.Strategically located in the centre of Australia; the ASBC shares God’s love with a culturally diverse and transient congregation and community.

 We are seeking a leader who can capably lead a team and biblically teach a congregation of approximately 400

 The successful applicant will be a mature Christian with experience in a pastoral leadership role in a larger Church, demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills, theological beliefs consistent with a conservative evangelical Baptist Church and demonstrated ability and willingness to preach Biblically concise and relevant sermons.

Youth & Communities Pastor 

Pastor Matthew Maloney
 

Matt came on board in 2009. He is from Brisbane and has completed a bachelor in ministry as of 2010. Matt became a Christian in 2002 at age 17 after a lot of prayer and effort from his friends from school and the youth ministry he was attending.
Matt is married to Elise (since 2007) and both of them have fallen in love with Alice Springs. Matt enjoys spending time with his friends and doing whatever they are doing. He has a secret addiction to his Xbox. 
Matt wants to see this church be a place where genuine discipleship happens and people are introduced to the God of the Bible in a very real and life changing sense. This is for those from both church backgrounds and those from our community. He believes that the Gospel of Jesus on the cross, in our place, for our sins, and His resurrection is both they way we become part of God’s family and also how we grow into maturity.

Children & Families Pastor 
Pastor Scott Garwood 

Scott also started as a pastor in 2009. Scott and his family have been living in Alice Springs since January 2006. Scott's wife is a principal at a local primary school and they have two nearly grown up children. Scott has been an aircraft engineer and pilot with The Mission Aviation Fellowship in Arnhemland and PNG. He has a BMin from the Bible College of New Zealand and has completed half of a MTh.  
Scott believes that our Church is a community that is a light to the world, where people grow in their knowledge and love of Christ, support each other  and use their gifts to further the Kingdom of God.
