Senior Pastor
Rev. Sam Swadling 

Sam has been a pastor in Alice Springs Baptist since 2005, initially as the Youth Pastor before commencing as the Senior Pastor in 2008. Sam came from Brisbane where he had previously been a Youth Pastor, Wharfy, Trawler worker, etc... He began studying his B.Min in 2002 and has now almost completed his MA.Th.

Sam is married to Bethany and has three children, Grace, Abishai, and Elke. He enjoys sport and plays Rugby League, is involved in Boxing, and enjoys camping, reading, and coffee, lots of coffee. 

"I believe the central purpose of the church is to glorify God. We do this when we faithfully teach His word, live according to His word, and share His word with others." At Alice Springs Baptist Church we are made up from people of many different cultural, denominational, and geographical, backgrounds but we are held together by unity in Christ and our serving Him together. We are a fairly transient place so we form friendships quickly and are always ready to welcome new people and readily involve them in the ministries of the church. The best thing to do is when you are in town come and check us out.

Youth & Communities Pastor 
Pastor Matthew Maloney

Matt came on board in 2009. He is from Brisbane and has been studying towards a degree in Pastoral Ministry since 2005. During this time he worked in a variety of casual positions ranging from office administration to being a teacher's aide. Matt became a Christian in 2002 after a lot of prayer and effort from his friends from school and the youth ministry he was attending.

Matt is Married to Elise and both of them have fallen in love with Alice Springs. Matt enjoys spending time with his friends and doing whatever, watching lame b grade movies, and has a secret addiction to xbox. 

Matt wants to see this church become a place where genuine discipleship happens and people are introduced to the God of the bible in a very real and life changing sense. Both those from a church background and those from our community.

Children & Families Pastor 
Pastor Scott Garwood 

Scott also started as a pastor in 2009. Scott and his family have been living in Alice Springs since January 2006. Scott's wife is a teacher at a local primary school and they have two teenage children. Scott has been an aircraft engineer and pilot with The Mission Aviation Fellowship before moving to the Alice.

Scott believes that our Church is a community where people grow in their knowledge and love of Christ, support each other  and use their gifts to further the Kingdom of God.
